KVGD-LP’s The Simcoe Spot with Robbie Wilson on 2/12/2016

KVGD-LP’s The Simcoe Spot Musicians’ Showcase for Klickitat County with Robbie Wilson on Feb. 12, 2016 – Simcoe Spot Program No. 6 MP3

Robbie Wilson is a Columbia Gorge area musician. His last band was Grindhouse. Lately he has returned to his roots and performs acoustic guitar at venues in the Columbia Gorge including Cascade Cliffs Winery located on Highway 14, west of the town of Maryhill, Washington.

In 2009, Grindhouse produced their CD, Functional Schizophrenic, in less than ten days completing the annual RPM Challenge during February. More about that at RPM Challenge. For the complete album, using the RPMRS tab, find the Search Users box and then Search All Artists where you will turn up the 2009 Functional Schizophrenic album by Grindhouse for listening or download. Band members at that time included: Robbie Wilson, Tony Dunne, Aaron Israel and Melissa Johnson.

On this hour of The Simcoe Spot that took place around Valentine’s Day, Robbie contemplates the love song elements in some of his originals including the CD’s title track, Functional Schizophrenic sung by the band’s bass player, Tony Dunne, and Until I Die, track four, sung by Robbie. He also explains the inspiration for another of track on that Grindhouse CD, Ling Ling Fang Is Dead.
